Credit Analyst – Metals & Mining - London
Description
The Risk Management Division is an independent, centralised unit responsible for assessing and monitoring risks across the Bank. This includes market and liquidity risk, credit risk, compliance risk and operational risk. Risk Management Division personnel liaise closely with all operating areas to ensure risks are understood and properly managed.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with transactions early in the deal process, identifying key issues and co-ordinating the credit response from start to finish
* Present complex structures and make recommendations to senior risk management staff, in a concise and clear manner
* It is expected that where appropriate you will perform client visits to gain a better understanding of the client?s position where documented information is limited.
* Real time, on-going and self-initiated monitoring of counterparty and industry developments
* Respond to trading line requests in a timely fashion
* Annual review of the existing limits and counterparties
* Ensure that appropriate guidelines, procedures and approvals are in place for new products or limits, through proactive liaison with appropriate business unit and other relevant areas
* Coordinate internal reporting
* Provide training & support to team members and peers.
Key Experience and Skills
* Banking experience and appropriate qualifications
* You?ll have in depth counterparty credit analysis utilising advanced credit skills preferably but not necessarily gained within a financial institution but with exposure to commodities.
* You?You'll posses strong commercial orientation and be a lateral thinker with proven ability to undertake comprehensive industry research and analysis
* Client focused with persuasive communication skills both written and verbal, confidence in being challenged
* A collegial team member who builds strong, open dialogue based relationships with clients and colleagues
* You will be self-directed in an unpredictable environment.
* Proficient financial modelling
* Proficiency in utilising trading and loan documentation
* European languages -Spanish, Portuguese or French highly desirable
