Business Unit Controller – Equities - London

The role is to be lead BUC, supporting Cash Equities IT with face off to the Cash Equities business and operating committee.

The BUC team responsibilities include:
• Production of the monthly management accounts
• Reporting / reviews with senior IT management & business stakeholders
• Management of the financial planning process
• Review and assessment of business cases (investment appraisals) for IT development projects
• Ensuring the integrity of the financials through appropriate reviews

Innovation and process enhancement are actively sought, as well as the ability to adapt and respond to ad-hoc requests from clients or BUC management.
You will work closely with front office business managers to ensure that the requirements of the programme sponsors and the relevant Operating Committee(s) are met.

While inevitably the role will be primarily focused on financial management, the scope is considerably wider and the successful candidate will therefore need to be skilled in a range of areas. Specifically, in addition to strong analytical skills and a solid accounting background, exceptional communication skills (both written and oral), an appreciation of project management disciplines and proven client relationship management skills will also be required. There is considerable scope for advancement for the right candidate.
